Lovie Moneva graduated from the University of the Philippines with a bachelor’s degree in Family Life and Child Development and a master’s degree in Reading Education. She has taught learners of different ages including preschoolers, college students, and professional teachers.
Aside from teaching, she has been involved in local and international research projects on early childhood development, early literacy, and educational policy. Through a scholarship from the Government of Spain, she was engaged in a study on Philippine education at the Globalisation, Education and Social Policies (GEPS) centre of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

As a PhD student under the ELIT Network (ESR 10), she explores the development of language and literacy skills, reading attitudes, and reading engagement of 3- to 6-year-old children in early childhood classrooms using both paper-based and digital reading materials.
