Anja Meyer holds a PhD in Modern Foreign Languages, Literature and Cultures from the University of Verona with a thesis on the relationship between literature and photography in contemporary literature in English. She has spent periods of research at the Freie Universität in Berlin and at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. Her areas of research include contemporary English literature, Victorian and Neo-Victorian Studies, Visual and Media Studies and Trauma Studies. She has recently published her first monograph, entitled “Images of Traumatic Memories. Intersecting Literature and Photography” (Vandenhöck & Ruprecht Verlag, Göttingen). After her doctorate, she has been working as an adjunct professor of English language and literature at the Universities of Verona, Mantova and Venice (Cà Foscari and IUAV University).
